Common questions about Palette
We get these questions a lot from curious teams exploring Palette and early users getting started.
What is Palette?
Palette is your AI teammate. It helps your team stay aligned, reduce busywork, and build better habits – directly in Slack, with context from the tools you already use.
For a deeper intro, see what is Palette?
What does Palette actually do?
Palette supports the small-but-crucial routines that keep teams running smoothly: weekly priorities, project updates, check-ins, and more. It nudges the team to stay on track, helps surface misalignment early, and keeps things moving – without adding more meetings.
How does Palette work?
Palette is what some would call an AI agent – but we think of it more like an AI teammate.
It joins your team on Slack, like a new member. Everyone can DM it directly, and Palette can message you or the whole team in shared channels.
You can also connect Palette to your tools, like Google Calendar and Linear. This lets it understand what’s going on and take action when it makes sense – like summarizing updates or nudging for priorities. We’re constantly adding more integrations based on what teams need.
Palette is trained to act like a teammate. It maps your team, learns who’s who, and starts working in the background to support you.
We’re rolling out new workflows based on what teams ask for – things like:
Weekly priorities – Palette checks in on Monday and shares a summary
Project updates – It helps gather async updates based on tool activity
Meeting follow-ups – Automatically shares recaps and nudges for next steps
That’s the core idea: an AI trained to help teams run better by joining your Slack, understanding your context, and helping where it can.
What’s an AI teammate?
An AI teammate is an AI agent that acts like a helpful team member – not just a tool.
That’s how we define it, at least. It’s still a new term, and different teams use it in different ways.
We use it because we want you to think of Palette as part of your team – not a dashboard or a bot, but something that works alongside you. It’s not a human colleague, of course. But it’s here to support your team the way a good teammate would.
Talk to Palette like a person – just expect AI speed, not small talk.
Is Palette an AI agent?
Yes – Palette is an AI agent.
It runs in the background, picks up context from your tools, and takes action on its own – without waiting for a prompt. That’s what makes it more than just a chatbot or plugin.
That said, we call it an AI teammate because that’s how we want you to experience it – not as a system to manage, but as something that shows up, helps out, and fits into the flow of your team.
Do I need to learn prompts?
Nope. Palette isn't a prompt-based tool.
It works automatically in the background and talks to your team in plain English. You can ask it things if you want – but most of the time, it just shows up with the right nudge, summary, or suggestion when it’s needed.
Does it integrate with our tools?
Yes. Palette connects to Slack, Google Calendar, Linear, and more – so it can understand what’s happening and reduce manual updates.
We’re adding more integrations regularly. Let us know what you’d like to see next.
Is Palette available now?
We’re onboarding early teams gradually to make sure things feel smooth and genuinely useful from day one.
You can [request access](https://palette.team/#request), and we’ll reach out once you’re a good fit for the current version.
Who is Palette for?
We're still exploring this ourselves – and learning with every team we work with.
In general, Palette seems to resonate most with teams who care about how they work. Teams that think about working smarter, not just harder. And teams that are open to using AI to reduce overhead and stay aligned.
We’re testing Palette with leadership teams, functional and cross-functional teams, and even temporary task forces – across startups, SMBs, and large enterprises.
In short: we're curious, and we’re looking to see where Palette creates the most value.
If you're curious too, please get in touch to get access.
Will it replace team leads or managers?
No. Palette supports the human side of teamwork – it doesn’t replace it.
Think of it like a reliable teammate that reminds the team what matters, helps share updates, and keeps things from falling through the cracks.
How does Palette handle data and privacy?
Palette is built for teams – not for your personal life.
It only works inside the team context, focused on what matters at work. No dinner recipes. No distractions. No listening in on things that aren’t relevant.
Private stays private. Conversations aren’t shared, scored, or used to train anything beyond your own team’s Palette.
Each team gets its own instance – which learns and adapts based only on how your team works. Nothing is shared across teams or used to train other models.
You stay in control of what Palette can see – and what it can do. If you disconnect a tool, access stops immediately.

How much does it cost?
Right now, Palette is free for early teams.
We’ll share more about pricing when we open up further – but if you want to help shape the product, now’s a good time to get involved.
Where is your team based?
We’re based in Copenhagen, Denmark – but we work with teams around the world.
