Not long ago we found ourselves using Claude Code for pretty much everything, including everything outside engineering. We tried Cursor and Conductor. We even used the terminal directly. They were all made for engineering, not for the rest of our work.
Cowork came along, but it didn't let us bring our own folders or our own choice of agent. What we actually wanted was to work with the latest models on top of the folders we already had. So we built it.
Palette Desktop gives agents access to your folders. Palette Atlas gives them access to what is happening around your organization.
Cowork is a hosted team workspace that only runs Claude. Palette Desktop runs on your own folders (local or shared via Google Drive or Dropbox), works with both Claude Code and Codex, and you bring your own subscription.
On your machine. Palette Desktop is a local app. If your folder is synced via Google Drive or Dropbox, it lives there too. Agent calls go directly through Anthropic or OpenAI, same as anywhere else.
